Former American Idol Staffer Spills Show Secrets
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Rumors,
In a new tell-all called American Idol Exposed, former staff member Justin Buckles gives fans an intimate look at what goes on behind the scenes… and some may not like what he’s got to say. The staffer confirms some rumors that American Idol watchers have suspected for years.
In an interview with anti-Idol site Vote For the Worst, Buckles talks about his turning point with the show: “On the audition road for Season 5, production assistants were asked to sit at the [audition] tables and act as producers. This really pushed me over the edge and pretty much started the ball rolling for me in regards to wanting to leave the show.” He said “contestants were one hundred percent scammed, in my opinion, during the Season 5 auditions.”
Do tell. “I saw producers escorting contestants straight to the final round of auditions with the judges,” Buckles continued.

VIDEO: Glee Cast Wows X Factor Audience
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Television, Videos,
Glee’s Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Lea Michele, Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, Naya Rivera, Chord Overstreet, Heather Morris, Mark Salling, Harry Shum, Jr. and Dianna Agron showed up at Britain’s X Factor this week to perform “Don’t Stop Believing,” much to the delight of the crowd. (Chris Colfer was not present, presumably because his character, Kurt, isn’t currently a member of New Directions.)
Their performance was preceded by a funny, taped clip featuring Jane Lynch as Sue Sylvester and Matthew Morrison as club coach Will Schuester.
The number won a rousing standing ovation from the watching judges. Our favorite moment? When Amber Riley stepped down off the stage to belt her line right in Simon Cowell’s face. As any die-hard Gleek will tell you, Riley was rejected during her American Idol audition.
Watch the entire performance in the video above.

American Idol’s Brooke White Taking Up Acting

Brooke White, who finished fifth during the seventh season of American Idol, is branching out into new entertainment genres. White will be starring in the TV movie Change of Plans, which focuses on a singer-songwriter who becomes custodian to her best friend’s four children.
White had a very successful audition, and she chalks it up to honesty. "I told them, 'Look, I have no acting experience,' and they were like, 'Great! We'll take you!'"
"It turned out to be the most enjoyable, wonderful experience, and I just fell in love with acting," she said.
The movie airs, predictably, on FOX. Look for it January 8 at 8 p.m.
In other Idol news, Carrie Underwood won the Country Music Artist of the Year award during Monday night’s American Country Awards. The Idol winner also took home a trophy for album of the year for her “Play On.”
